One Guitar - Live in the Lobby

The Patchogue Theater, 71 E Main St, Patchogue, NY

ONE GUITAR grew out of a monthly songwriter workshop at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Abequogue. One night in 2014 they had a small attendance so everyone got through their songs quickly. They decided to each play one more and curator Don Bracken suggested everyone play their next song on his vintage 1961 Gibson J45, a true gem of an acoustic guitar. They were setup in the very center of the sanctuary, the natural reverb was great, everyone played and several remarked that it would be great to record right there with that guitar sometime. The result was "One Guitar,"  a two disc set with 29 original songs by Long Island singer-songwriters. The proceeds from the CD sales and live concert that followed help support Maureen's Haven, a homeless outreach program based in Riverhead. Several performers at Live in the lobby over the past year were a part of this project, and mentioned it during their performances. When he heard that One Guitar was continuing, Live in the Lobby curator Christopher Capobianco reached out to Don Bracken, and we've teamed up to present the one guitar concert here. The musicians are donating their performance fees to Maureen's Haven and ticket sales, as always, support Patchogue Theatre's programs for local music. Artists slated to appear include: Doug Attridge, Marty Attridge, Eddie Ayala, Don Bracken, Robert Bruey, John Ciccariello, Jim Dexter, Bryan Downey, Inda Eaton Glenn Feit Sr., Chuck Finch, Dean Fritscher, Bryan Gallo, Mick Hargreaves, Leah Kay, Kerry Kearney, Rorie Kelly, Julia King Valery Levine, Mariann Megna, Fred Raimondo, Dan Reyburn, Greg Root, Walter Sargent, Stephen Skoldberg, Michael Weiskopf Shari Yeomans, Jack Lacitra, Pete Mancini, Jean-Paul Vest, Rob Europe
